Following some overnight mist/fog, a thoroughly wet and overcast day, with persistent and at times heavy rain associated with multiple fronts arriving from the SW as low pressure dominated the Atlantic. Light to moderate SW'ly wind, and remaining mild for the time of year. Further N, a colder air mass associated with high pressure to the north began to generate snow over higher ground during the evening and overnight period.
