A remarkable day, which started off fine, warm and sunny with areas of high cloud. Increasingly cold, dry and strong northerly flow developed through the late morning as a cold front surged south, with conditions becoming rather cloudy with the odd glimpse of sunshine. Clouds broke during the early evening to leave large clear spells.
