Dry, cold, and mainly cloudy, with a raw and strong east to south-east wind. Snow showers in the east finally eased and became concentrated in the far north-east, whilst a stream of convergence showers in the Channel came north early morning and gave a light dusting to parts of S. Devon including Exeter. -23.0C was reported at Braemar, the coldest temperature in the UK since Dec 1995.
