An overcast start to the day following some overnight rain. The day gradually improved as cloud breaks developed from the W/NW, associated with a ridge building between two low pressure systems. Sunny spells during the afternoon with fair-weather cumulus, which dissolved away to leave a clear evening and overnight. Moderate W to NW'ly winds, temperatures below the seasonal average and becoming quite chilly overnight in the clearer air.
