Daily Diary Another fine, sunny day with only a few clouds... some cirrus during late-morning/early afternoon period, and some fair weather cumulus developed mid-afternoon. Hot, dry, with a light S/SW'ly wind. Heavy showers and thunderstorms broke out across SE England, with large hail observed near Leicester and rotating storms. 60-70 mm per hour was recorded in rain gauges, and 3 private gauges reported >90mm in total.
