Daily Diary

A cold night with an early frost, although temperatures steadily climbed through the morning as slightly milder air encroached from the W. Dry by day with some sunny spells and an light W'ly wind. Winds steadily veered round to the NE overnight, with a sharp shower during the evening bringing the only rain of the day. Cold, but not quite so cold as yesterday, with a further cold night/air frost following. Further afield, an area of precipitation rain SSE from NW to Central S UK, engaging cold air and producing an area of snow, with sleet/rain confined to the lowest levels only.
