Daily Diary

A cold, clear night with temperatures falling close to freezing, but temperatures lifted ahead of an area of light showers which arrived first thing. A fine, settled day followed within a ridge of high pressure, with temperatures lifting to around average. Good spells of sunshine, leading into a clear night which turned quickly cold as temperatures again dipped close to freezing. However, thickening cloud and rain associated with a warm front stopped the cooling, leading to temperatures rising and winds strengthening through the following night. NW'ly wind becoming light and variable during the evening, before backing round to S'ly overnight in the warm sector.
