Some clear spells overnight, but by day generally overcast with only a few brighter breaks. Some showery rain moved across from the west during the evening and overnight, associated with an upper trough. Temperatures around average for the time of year.

A remarkable explosive volcanic eruption in Tonga during the early hours of the morning (UK time) produced a pressure shockwave which was detected around the world; these are the pressure spikes evident at around 15/1900 and 16/0200 on the barograph.
