Overnight rain cleared by the morning, to leave a largely overcast but dry day save for the odd spot of showery rain (mainly layers of medium and high cloud spreading up from the south). Gentle NNE'ly wind, mild overnight and temperatures a little above average by day too. Change to colder conditions began to take place across the far N of the UK.
