Large Atlantic vortex controlled conditions across the W of the UK today. A fine, sunny start, with light S'ly winds, and turning very warm ahead of thickening cloud and some heavy showers which developed within a warm plume ahead of the main cold front. Cold front arrived during the evening, as a fairly inert feature.
