Daily Diary A fantastic day for observing atmospheric phenomenon. Extratropical transition of hurricane Fiona near Newfoundland amplified the high-latitude pattern, sending an active and strongly forward sloping warm front push SE across the UK. A thick band of cirrus, which produced an upper tangent arc, was followed by layers of Ac with a number of fallstreak holes developing late afternoon/early evening. Remained dry at the Roost, with sunny spells and sometimes long periods of hazy sunshine. Light to moderate NW'ly wind, with temperatures a bit below average. Milder night following compared to the preceding night. RoostCam South Timelapse | RoostCam North Timelapse |
