A weak cold front arrived during the afternoon, bringing a little rain, otherwise mainly cloudy albeit with a few sunny breaks in the cloud just ahead of the front itself. Temperatures well up on the previous day, at around average for the time of year. Wintry showers and an Arctic air mass began to sweep across northern UK. Light W'ly winds became moderate NW'ly post front.
