Daily Diary Windy, mainly overcast, with persistent and at times heavy rain, associated with Storm Mathis and its attendant wrap-around occluded fronts moving east across the south of the UK. A few glimpses of sunshine between the bands slid across during the afternoon, and a more general clearance developed for a time early to mid-evening, before further rain arrived. Temperatures around average, although held up overnight given the cloud and wind. Severe coastal gales observed and across parts of Scilly and W Cornwall, on the back-side of Mathis.
