Daily Diary Overnight rain cleared early morning, leaving a blustery and cold SW'ly flow with showers of rain and small hail. A frontal wave developed and moved up across S'ern England during the evening, the heavy, persistent rain, low pressure and light winds allowed the freezing level to drop sharply and rain turned to snow even at modest elevations. Significant snow over high ground in the SW, and a slushy covering of snow on windscreens here temporarily. Rain cleared overnight with further showers following.
