Daily Diary Very warm overnight with temperatures only briefly falling below 20C. Some elevated convection moved N across SW England early morning, with some rumbles of thunder heard. Fresher air steadily flooded in from the W behind a very weak cold front, with significant low cloud gradually lifting and breaking as dewpoints steadily fell. A sunny end to the day, leading into a much fresher, cooler night with clear spells. Thunderstorms were quite widespread across Northern Ireland and Scotland (elevated stors), whilst temperatures of 31 to very locally 35C (34.8 at Cambridge) were observed in the SE.
