Daily Diary The front associated with Storm Eowyn swept through very quickly overnight, with gusts approaching gale inland here. Strongest winds were across Ireland and Scotland, where red warnings were in force and Mace Head recorded a gust of 114mph, a record for Ireland. Some brighter breaks developed at times during the day, and it was mainly dry, save for a trough which came through during the evening (just after 9pm).
